The history of Buick is nearly as long and just as interesting as the history of the automobile itself. The American automaker introduced its first vehicle all the way back in 1904. It was called the Model B, which is not to be confused with that other famous car, the Model T. The company has come a long way to bring its high-quality cars, such as the Enclave to our customers here in Moreno Valley. Today, we'd like to take a look back at some of the brand's major milestones and share them with you, our loyal blog readers.
Since the company started, it has produced over 43 million vehicles. The one millionth car - a touring sedan - rolled off the assembly line in 1923.
Skip ahead to the next decade, when the company developed the Buick Y Job, which is thought to be the first concept car ever. It was a convertible with an unforgettable look, created by the famed designer Harley Earl. At the same time, the brand was actually a fixture on the NASCAR circuit, too. Its cars have won two NASCAR titles and served as the Indianapolis 500 pace car six different cars.
One last tidbit: in 1963, the brand rolled out the Buick Riviera. It was highly regarded at the time and remains one of the automaker's most popular cars.
