You may not have heard the news, but this year marks the 110th anniversary for the Buick brand. That's right; for over a century, American drivers have relied on the high-quality vehicles that we sell here at Moss Bros. Buick GMC to get them where they need to go, safely and comfortably. To celebrate this major milestone, General Motors just released 11 new models, each of which showcases the best qualities of the cars from the 11 decades that the automaker has been in the game.
Here's a look back at the company's history in the automotive industry:
The company moved to Flint, Michigan in 1903, and the first car to bear the brand's name was the 1904 Buick Model B, and the first unit was sold to Dr. Herbert H. Hills, giving the vehicle its reputation as a "doctor's car."
The next big model to come from Buick was the 1916 D-45 Touring, which was the top selling vehicle in the industry at the time. That same year, the brand's sales numbers broke into six digits, solidifying its place as a top American car brand.
The 1930s saw the rise of the Series 50, which was the best-selling model while the company moved from six-cylinder to eight-cylinder engines, and the Buick Century, which wasd the first of the automaker's cars to reach over 100 mph.
